Casablanca is hosting the 2026 Euro-Africa Biennale from 15 to 18 October, bringing together artists and cultural organisations for a four-day programme of music, cinema, dance, visual arts, fashion and urban sports.
The event, centred on Anfa Park, features approximately 25 activities, with additional events in Mohammedia and Benslimane. Admission is free, according to the Institut Français de Casablanca.
A cross-continental creative programme
Originating in Montpellier, France, the biennale is being staged in Casablanca as a platform for exchanges between creative communities in Africa and Europe. Its organisers include institutions and regional authorities from Morocco and France.
The official programme spans concerts, exhibitions, film screenings, literary activities and performances. Among the featured projects is Kamel Ghabte’s interactive-design exhibition, Onze passages entre deux rives, which explores memory, movement, technology and environmental themes.
Urban culture also features prominently. A programme of breakdance, skateboarding, music and participatory activities is scheduled alongside screenings under the stars. The outdoor cinema programme runs from 16 to 18 October.
Culture as a channel for collaboration
By combining artistic disciplines and bringing practitioners from different regions into the same programme, the biennale offers opportunities for creative exchange and collaboration. Its significance lies not only in public performances but also in the networks that such events can help build among artists, producers and cultural institutions.
Organisers have published the schedule and participating activities, but have not established an attendance figure or measured economic impact for this edition.
