CANEX WKND 2026 will bring its Deal Room to Lagos in November, placing investment and commercial finance alongside film, music, fashion, literature, visual arts, gastronomy and sport in a four-day gathering focused on Africa’s creative economy.
The Creative Africa Nexus programme, organised by Afreximbank, says the Deal Room is designed to give entrepreneurs in Africa’s creative and cultural industries an opportunity to present bankable projects to financiers and investors.
From creative talent to investable businesses
Africa’s creative industries are frequently discussed through the lens of cultural influence, festivals and global audiences. The financing question is increasingly important: how creative businesses build the track records, corporate structures and predictable revenues required to attract debt and equity capital.
CANEX’s financing model reflects that shift. Its Deal Room has been structured around commercial opportunities in areas including film and television, music, fashion, franchising and creative-industry infrastructure.
Lagos hosts CANEX WKND 2026
This year’s CANEX WKND is scheduled for 5–8 November 2026 at the Wole Soyinka Centre for Cultural & Creative Arts in Lagos. It is organised by Afreximbank, hosted by the Government of Nigeria and held in partnership with the African Union Commission and AfCFTA Secretariat.
The presence of financiers does not mean participating companies have secured investment. Individual transactions would still require commercial assessment, due diligence and financing decisions.
