🏆 Morocco Beat Nigeria on Penalties

Hosts Morocco advanced to the final of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations after a tense semi-final encounter against Nigeria that ended 0-0 after extra time and was decided by a penalty shootout. Morocco won the shootout 4-2, with goalkeeper Yassine Bounou making key saves and Youssef En-Nesyri converting the decisive spot kick.

This result sends Morocco — bidding for their first AFCON title since 1976 — through to the final in Rabat. Nigeria will instead contest the third-place playoff.

🟡 Senegal Beat Egypt to Reach Final

In the other semi-final, Senegal secured their spot in the final with a 1-0 victory over Egypt. Sadio Mané scored the match’s lone goal late in regulation, giving Senegal a win in a closely contested fixture.

Senegal’s win continues their strong AFCON pedigree — the team won the tournament in 2021 and are aiming to become the first side to win successive finals in recent years.

🧠 Final Lineup: Morocco vs Senegal

With both semi-finals decided, the AFCON 2025 final is confirmed as:

🇲🇦 Morocco vs 🇸🇳 Senegal

📍 Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium, Rabat, Morocco

This sets up a compelling continental showdown between the hosts — seeking a historic title on home soil — and a Senegal side that has consistently been among Africa’s elite.
