Egyptian club Pyramids FC etched their name into African football history by clinching their maiden CAF Champions League title.

In a pulsating final played at the Cairo International Stadium, Pyramids FC defeated South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns 2–1 in the second leg to seal a 3–2 aggregate victory. It was a night of celebration and relief as goals from Fiston Mayele and Ahmed Samy proved decisive. The win marks a major milestone for the relatively young Egyptian club that has been making waves in domestic and continental competitions.

Mamelodi Sundowns, a team with pedigree and expectations, found themselves chasing the game from early on. Despite pulling one goal back, they were unable to overturn the deficit. The final was a showcase of tactical discipline, home support, and rising football ambition in North Africa.

The victory makes Pyramids FC the 13th club to win the title in the competition’s current format and bolsters Egypt’s dominance in African club football. It also boosts the club’s visibility and competitiveness on a global stage, positioning them for future international tournaments.
