Morocco’s Atlas Lions have roared to the top of African football once more, defeating Madagascar 3–2 in a thrilling final to claim their third African Nations Championship (CHAN) title. The historic win came in front of a jubilant crowd at Kasarani Stadium in Nairobi, Kenya, capping off a spectacular tournament with a final full of drama, passion, and resilience.

According to The Star Kenya, Morocco becomes the first nation in history to win the CHAN title three times, following earlier triumphs in 2018 and 2020.

🎯 A Final to Remember

The match started with a bang, as Félicité Mantasoa stunned Morocco with a goal in the 9th minute to put Madagascar ahead. But Morocco regrouped quickly:

In the 27th minute, Youssef Mehri fired in the equalizer. Just before halftime, Oussama Lamlioui added a second for Morocco, turning the tide. Toky Rakotondraibe leveled for Madagascar again in the 68th minute. Then in the 80th minute, Lamlioui returned to seal the match with his second goal—delivering Morocco’s ultimate victory.

As reported by The Kenya Times, the electric atmosphere was matched only by the historic importance of the win.

The victory celebration was attended by FIFA President Gianni Infantino, Kenya’s President William Ruto, and top CAF officials. The trophy was presented amid national flags, music, and euphoric fans.
